In 2004, Sharon Sikes, a certified bereavement facilitator and volunteer chaplain, learned of a special need relating to grieving families and had to help. She met with local nurses and learned about the difficulties facing families who experienced perinatal loss. Inspired by her passion her helping grieving families and her love of sewing, she created Angel Layettes. Sharon met with hospital staff to design layettes that would be suitable for the delicate babies and provide comforting keepsakes for the families She recruited volunteers and friends to lovingly create layette sets for local hospitals. Over time, more and more hospitals requested the beautiful sets, so much so that Sharon and her loving husband, Arnold, officially incorporated Angel Layettes as a 501©(3) non-profit organization in 2007. Since then, Angel Layettes has continued to grow and provides custom burial layettes and keepsake hearts to families without charge to hospitals all over the United States.
Angel Layettes continues to honor the principles set forth by our founder, Sharon Sikes.
Angel Layettes is committed to providing the highest quality items designed specifically for those experiencing perinatal loss.
